A professional approach to live music

A great violinist is not just a musician. They are a presence. Our violinist moves through the room, interacts with guests, and transitions between moments with professional timing. From the first note of the processional to the last set of the reception, every performance is rehearsed.

We meet in advance to select repertoire, map out performance windows, and coordinate with your DJ, coordinator, and venue sound engineer. Available for weddings across Southern California, from Los Angeles to San Diego.

Repertoire session

We review your must-play list, cultural preferences, and the emotional arc you want for each moment. We’ll suggest songs from our library and flag anything that needs custom arrangement.

Performance planning

We map out each performance window with your event coordinator and confirm every handoff point in writing.

Sound check

We arrive early for a full sound check with the venue PA and your DJ’s rig. Monitor mix, wireless signal, and gain structure are all confirmed before a single guest arrives.

Live performance

From processional to dance floor, we perform with complete awareness of the room’s energy, extending sets when the crowd responds, stepping back when the DJ needs the floor.

Can you learn a specific song not in your repertoire?

Yes. With a minimum of 4 weeks lead time, we can arrange and rehearse a custom piece for your event. This applies to processional songs, first dance tracks, and any cultural piece you want performed live. There is an additional fee for custom arrangements depending on complexity.

How does the violinist perform alongside the DJ without clashing?

We do a full sound check before the event and establish a monitor mix so our violinist hears the DJ’s music clearly in their ear. We coordinate with the DJ on key and tempo for each collaboration track. The violinist and DJ rehearse transitions in advance.

Is the violin acoustic or electric?

We use a professional acoustic violin with a high-quality wireless pickup, giving the warmth of an acoustic instrument with the clarity and volume needed for event spaces. For certain styles or larger venues, we can use a solid-body electric violin with effects processing. We’ll recommend the right setup for your venue and event type.

How long is a typical performance set?

Ceremony performance is typically 20 to 30 minutes. Cocktail hour sets run 45 to 60 minutes. DJ collaboration sets are typically 2 to 3 song blocks, around 10 to 15 minutes each, performed one to three times during the reception. Total performance time across a full wedding is usually 2.5 to 3 hours with rest breaks built in.

Can the violinist perform at an outdoor ceremony?

Yes. Our wedding violinist performs at outdoor ceremonies across SoCal without issue. For outdoor venues we confirm wind conditions and surface access in advance. If amplification is not available at the ceremony site, we can bring a compact portable speaker that blends into the setup without looking like a production rig.
